Maggie Grace is an American actress born Margaret Grace Denig in 1983. Her most well-known roles are Shannon Rutherford, a character from ABC's Lost series and Kim Mills from the Taken trilogy. Born in Worthington Ohio, she dropped out of high school and moved in Los Angeles with her mother when her parents separated. Though she struggled financially and in the beginning, she made her acting debut as Rachel's Room's primary character. In 2002 she was nominated to receive a Young Artist Award with her character as a 15 year old murder victim Martha Moxley. In 2004 Grace was selected to portray Shannon Rutherford in the television show Lost on which she was the main actor for the first two seasons. She was also awarded an Screen Actors Guild Award shared with the cast of the ensemble. The show ended in 2005 and Grace was keen to work as a film actress, and had been cast as the opposite of Tom Welling in The Fog in 2005. The actress has also appeared as Kim Mills in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club and in 2007 as well as in Taken alongside Liam Neeson in 2008 as Kim Mills. Her role was reprised as Kim Mills in Taken 2 (2011) and Taken 3 (2013).She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland, a modern adaptation to the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace played Shannon again in Lost's finale and in two additional episodes. Grace was a part of the show's sixth season that aired from 2013 to 2014. The character she plays is Faith who's a star-gazer and groupie. Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny, falls for her. She is a member of the Gyllenhaal family and is the older sister of Jake Gyllenhaal. Her acting career started as an early teenager, with small parts in a few films directed by her father. She also worked with her brother on the 2001 popular movie Donnie Darko. Her subsequent roles included Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, both 2002 and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal received nominations for the Golden Globe Award in both the romantic comedy Sherrybaby (2005) and the romantic comedy Secretary (2002). Both movies were critically acclaimed. The year 2006 was the time she had a number of films that were commercially successful, including World Trade Center. However the role she played as Rachel Dawes that brought her wider attention in The Dark Knight (2008). The film was nominated to win an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress for her role as Rachel Dawes in Crazy Heart, (2009). The following year, she starred in comedies and dramas: Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and Will Not Back Down (2012). Her other roles include Secret Service agents in White House Down (2013, action thriller) as well as actors in Frank (2014 Drama The Kindergarten Teacher 2018), and the role of the kindergarten teacher. Gyllenhaal began her professional career as screenwriter, director and writer in the year 2021, when she directed and wrote the psychological thriller The Lost Daughter. The film received the award for Best Screenplay in the Venice International Film Festival, and was later nominated by The Academy Award. Academy Award.
